The Next Future Car?
In regard to the last post about the future car of Terrafugia Escape from Land posted by Brian Somers. I also did my article on the same subject, but for a different future vehicle and it's called the Skycar M400. This future vehicle has many advantages over the Terrafugia. The Skycar M400 has the ability to take off and land vertically just like the military harrier jet or the F35 so it doesn’t need any runway for it to fly. It can go as fast as 400 miles per hour and can fly 900 miles on a tank. The mileage is 20 miles to the gallon. It can sit four people. Right now the Skycar cost about a million dollars which is comparable to cost of European super cars like the Bugatti Veyron $1,700,00 or the Lamborghini Reventon $1,600,000. But the price can go down to $60,000 as soon as mass production starts.
The Skycar M400 has eight rotary engines. There are two in each of the four metal housings called nacelles. So if one engine fails, the other can maintain flight. For satefy features, the vehicle will release parachutes and airbags internally and externally. Also Global Positioning System (GPS) will be used to guide the vehicle.
Just imagine running late for work and it's rush hour. Waiting for lights can take for ever, but with the Skycar, you can fly right over them. Getting to destinations will be much easier and quicker. It'll make transportations more convenient.
