New Species, where are you, Sasquatch?

Since we have been talking about Charles Darwin in class recently, I thought it would be interesting to do my post on species that have recently been discovered.
Although a majority of these creatures are relatively small, some are enormous. It seems, however, that all of the species that are being found are closely related to very similar animals.

Of all the animals that I came across, I found the Frilled Shark to be the most interesting (seen to the left). It is very prehistoric looking, like a cross between a shark and a eel.

The one that I dislike the most was definitely the Blue Fanged Tarantula. I have a small amount of arachnophobia, so this aggressive little devil that throws stinging hairs as a defense is just another one to add to my list of creatures I don't want to come across. it was discovered in the Amazon, where new species are being discovered every few days. Unfortunately these animals are more at risk than the other newly discovered species due to the large amount of logging that is occurring there. This is not to say that the other animals are safe, on the contrary, it seems it took people so long to discover them, because there are so few of them alive to begin with!

Although it is upsetting to see these animals coming into such close contact with extinction, extinction appears to only mean that people don't know where the species is at the time, in some cases at least.

I have always found it to be very closed minded to not believe in the legendary Bigfoot. This is not only a potentially undiscovered species, but also the missing link in The Theory of Evolution. Consider if a creature matching Bigfoot's description was found. I imagine that this would be a very big paradigm shift, The Law of Evolution? It would impact the scientific community, many religious groups, and I'm sure the human population would be in general very interested in learning more about this new animal. There have been so many alleged sightings of the creature that although I'm sure some of the claimed witnesses are lying, I find it very hard to believe that they are all lying. Not to mention, you never know!
